Peter King of NBC Sports came to Nashville during his tour of NFL training camps. He came away more than impressed with the Titans and specifically, Arthur Smith. He called Smith one of the five best play-designers/play-callers in football. That’s obviously high praise, but I hope he keeps it more on the down low so we can keep Art.
Better, faster, stronger. A song by Daft Punk or a description of Jeffery Simmons this offseason? Turns out, it’s both. Big Jeff was tracked at 18 mph in practice, and for a man that size? Wow.
Jim Wyatt reports on what he saw during Monday’s practice. Corey Davis had a nice day, apparently. Seems like he’s had a very good camp thus far.
Trying to make his mark in the kick and punt returning game, Rashard Davis has had a solid camp. He’s still in the rotation for both those jobs at this point, and has been making the most of his opportunity.
ESPN+ ranks the playoff teams from last year in regard to their chances of making the playoffs again in 2020. The Titans rank 11th, to no surprise, and they, like every other team on the list is going to have to earn their place this year.
The second most valuable non-QB offensive player? Derrick Henry according to NFL.com’s Cynthia Frelund.
Ja’Marr Chase of LSU opted of the 2020 collegiate season, and has begun preparations for the 2021 draft. Chase is an elite talent, and I doubt the Titans have a shot at him, but he and A.J. Brown would be one of the better duos in the NFL.
