Titans News: Kicking themselves

After the worst first half in a while, the Titans crawled back into the game on Sunday. Ryan Tannehill did what he’s done so many times this year, drive down the field in crunch-time, which put the team in position to go to overtime. Stephen Gostkowski’s foot had other plans, sending the ball wide right of the goalposts and sending the Titans home 5-1 instead of giving them a chance to go 6-0. The game was not lost solely on that play, but it stung like it had.

What stood out on Sunday? For me, it was that the Titans cannot buy a stop on 3rd down. This defense is laughably bad on 3rd down and it HAS to get solved or else this team will be in trouble against the elite QBs of the world.

Although the Titans lost, Sunday was a good reminder of just how fantastic A.J. Brown is. He provided the spark the Titans needed when they looked listless on offense, and spurred the comeback.

The Titans are being fined $350k for breaking COVID-19 protocol violations. Given the rumors swirling regarding potential punishments, the fine is more than acceptable to me.
