Titans News: Lie detector stretch

The Titans’ next three games are against teams with winning records, all in the conference. It would be an important stretch for the Titans no matter what, but given the playoff position the Titans are currently in, the importance is heightened.

In some sort of sick joke, Ryan Allen was released by the Titans on Tuesday. Allen punted very well for the Titans against the Bears, was replaced by Trevor Daniel for Thursday Night Football. Daniel of course rewarded the Titans’ trust in him by stinking up Nissan Stadium, highlighted by a 17 yard punt and blocked punt for a TD.

In the NFL.com Power Rankings, the Titans dropped to 14th. You could argue for lower, given how they’ve played over the last 4 weeks.

  1. Isn’t Brett Kern required to sit out 1 more week since he’s on IR? So we released the punter (Allen) who averaged 50 yds/punt in favor of the guy (Daniel) who shanked a 17-yarder? And it looks like we’re keeping the kicker who has missed 8 FGs this year? These guys must be great in practice. Cue the Allen Iverson legendary practice video.
