Stephen Gostkowski is now 3 for 3 in game winning FG attempts through three games with the Titans. His tenure started off rocky, but it’s been mostly smooth sailing since that first game in Denver.
Kalif Raymond had a huge game on Sunday, catching two deep balls and going for over 100 yards on just 3 catches. Raymond needed a a game like this, as he had been too quiet through the first two weeks.
Down by 12 points in the 3rd Quarter, the Titans put together some winning football, both on offense and on defense.
Derrick Henry got rolling against the Vikings, rushing for over 100 yards and scoring 2 TDs.
Something that was apparent yesterday is that the Titans need to find ways to get consistent pressure on the opposing QBs and stop opposing running backs. Dalvin Cook ran for over 180 yards and Kirk Cousins had no problems for most of yesterday’s game. Hopefully Adoree Jackson comes back soon.
The big play and Gostkowski were the reasons the Titans won in Minneapolis. When this team puts together a complete effort, it is going to be something to behold.

“ When this team puts together a complete effort, it is going to be something to behold.”
^YES^
I have the over/under on how many weeks it takes the team to put together such a complete effort at week 7. And I’m taking the OVER as I believe it will take survival of these next three games followed by a bye week for us to really hit a stride.
By survival, I mean we could win or lose, but I think they all prove to be slugfests in which we keep shooting our own feet from time to time. Very well could be that we go into the bye week at 3-3 or at the ugliest 6-0 in NFL history. But I think we start seeing more complete Titans performances after that bye week.
If we can get to week 8 without any more major injuries, at 5-3, I think we are are in a great spot for us.
We have every reason to believe that we could be 6-2, or even 7-1 at that point, but conservatively 5-3 is extremely doable.
We get back AJ and Adoree back sometime before that and they work back up to 100%, while play calling on D improves, we could get hot and not cool off until we are holding the Lombardi.
That’s of course a best case scenario. We’re still longshots in everyone’s eyes, and the way we’ve played the first three weeks on defense, I don’t blame them.
I hear you. My thoughts/sentiments as well. Keep in mind, we have a by week 7. So literally, we only have 3 more games until we reach week 8.
*bye week ?
So, I know its frustrating for Kirk Cousins to put up all of those yards, but I saw a stat that we had the most pressure of any team this week. The issue must be the secondary. It’s hard to figure out how to build a better pass rush than the one leading the NFL for a week.
Pretty fabulous stat you’re bringing to us there. Thanks!
