Now that the secret is out and Julio Jones is not likely to be a Falcon in 2021, it is open season on the WR’s mentions. A.J. Brown sent him a message on Instagram, which you can listen to below. Jones won’t be able to select his next destination, but there are reports that he would like to go to New England or Tennessee.
Jeffri Chadiha of NFL.com has 5 teams that should be all in on Julio Jones. Somehow the Titans don’t make the list, but given their lack of quality at the position, it’s a no brainer to me that they should be going for it.
Jim Wyatt seems to believe that the Titans would not have cap space to trade for Julio Jones. That’s simply not true, and with a single restructure, they could have enough money to fit him on the team AND keep cap flexibility for next year. That makes me think that the team is feeding him that line, and unfortunately fans are taking the bait, hook, line, and sinker. The only thing stopping the Titans from making a serious play for Julio is the Titans and their reluctance to restructure.
Mike Herndon has a good piece here on Broadway outlining what the pros and cons of a Julio trade would be, as well as the ramifications long term.
