On Sunday afternoon, the Titans beat the Colts once again. A story from The Athletic circulated earlier in the week about Colts’ owner, Jim Irsay, and how he hates losing to the Titans and makes it known to those who work for him. Sunday’s outcome couldn’t have made him feel much better about the trajectory of his team.
The offense was en fuego in the first half of the game Sunday, which we have been accustomed to seeing this year. Unfortunately someone had to put the entire offense on milk cartons in the second half, a sight we have also become accustomed to seeing so far this season. There certainly seems to be a mix of both execution errors and play calling predictability, so hopefully as the season goes on, this can get ironed out. If not, it’ll be a quick playoff exit if they are lucky to make it that far.
Three of the four games this year, the Titans have been up big at halftime. Turron Davenport says it’s time to put these teams away, and he’s right.
Both Denico Autry and Derrick Henry had huge games yesterday. Autry punished his old team and Henry ran all over the turf that ended his season a year ago. It’s almost poetic.
It appears that Treylon Burks may be out for some time with an ankle or foot injury as he was carted off the field and left the stadium in crutches. They need him back in a big way as the offense already lacks playmakers.
