The term rent free is used incorrectly 99% of the time. However, that’s exactly how Derrick Henry is living in Darius Leonard’s mind during the offseason. Leonard says when he’s training, he’s thinking of how Derrick is training. His goal is to stop Henry, and it’s a goal he cannot stop obsessing over during the offseason.
In Todd McShay’s mock draft on ESPN+, he has the Titans drafting George Karlaftis, an EDGE from Purdue. To that, I say absolutely not. The offense has to get better and with no second rounder, the Titans need to be drafting a WR in round one. Jameson Williams is still on the board in this scenario and he would be a perfect fit for what the Titans need.
What do the Titans need to do this offseason? Get better around Ryan Tannehill says Solomon Wilcots. He’s right. Tannehill isn’t a player that elevates others around him. He needs a very good situation and right now the situation is pretty good. Adding a bonafide WR3 and an entirely new TE room should be big priorities. Another huge priority will be figuring out the pass blocking. It was a wreck this season and can’t continue.
In the NFL QB Index, Ryan Tannehill slots in at 12th overall. Gregg Rosenthal says that Tannehill wasn’t as bad as he remembers him being in the playoff loss, but I’m here to tell you he was awful. The picks were wretched, but beyond that, he made an poor decision on 3rd and 1 to keep the ball on the read option instead of handing it to Henry. His passes were inaccurate for most of the game, throwing behind guys and missing A.J. Brown on a deep pass that would have been a sure touchdown.
Bucky Brooks always has some questionable draft rankings and this year was no different. His TE ranks have Jalen Wydermyer as TE1, which is something I could not disagree more with. He does nothing at an elite level and looks like a barge when running. No thanks.
