Jon Robinson snapped his fingers yesterday and 17 players were removed from the roster. They will most likely not be added back onto the roster through a time heist, but rather gone from Nashville forever. Among the players cut was Dez Fitzpatrick, which was absolutely not a surprise. After years of mediocre play at Louisville, he had a solid week at the Senior Bowl, convincing the Titans to not only draft him, but trade up for him. In the grand scheme of things, it’s just a 4th rounder, but it also shows a bit of an over-reliance on Senior Bowl performances.
Some of the injured players returned to practice, including Julio Jones and Josh Reynolds. If the Titans can have their top three WRs ready for week 1, that would be huge.
Mike Vrabel plans on returning to practice today, players have been warned.
The Jaguars head coach, Urban Meyer said another thing that is getting him investigated. If his tenure does not end up in a complete disaster as the Jags coach, I will be shocked.

LOL! Between Carson Wentz being put on COVID-19 list, the Jaguars shooting themselves in the foot, and Houston imploding, things are looking good for the Titans repeating as AFC South champs. I say if we see at some point that we are gonna win the division, we chose to limit the play of certain players to protect their health in this 17 game season so that they can be healthy, fresh and available in the playoffs where we will need them. I know I am getting ahead of myself here, but do we seriously need to chase a huge Payton Manning style winning season only to flame out in the playoffs? All I care about is winning enough to take the division title and get into the playoffs where we can make a run for the Super Bowl. You can keep your 13-14 win season. Our divisional competition will be lucky to break 10 wins. If you lose in the first round, no one will care.
Depending on how well we’re doing throughout the season, I could realistically see us vying for first round bye with Buffalo. Cleveland or Baltimore could challenge for it as well, but their division is too tough and they will have more losses because of it. If that happens, we shouldn’t take our foot off the gas.
I see your point. I’m just thinking, “would I want to get a first round bye but see Julio Jones out for the year to get it?” That might be a Pyrrhic victory. Julio and A.J. have some history of injury, and I would rather have everyone healthy and in the groove come January even if we have to play one more game. Let Buffalo have their bye and we drop a 40-burger on them in their playoff loss. That’s assuming the Colts don’t actually turn Wentz around and push us for a playoff spot. If that’s the case, well, gotta do what we gotta do.
