Ryan Tannehill was the backup QB a year ago. He was supposed to push Marcus Mariota to new heights, but also to provide a safety net in case of an injury. What ended up happening was Marcus was not very good, Tannehill took over, and the offense exploded to become one of the best offenses in the league. Tannehill earned every bit of his new contract, and I hope he continues to prove he’s worth it.
He was lost, but now he’s found. Vic Beasley has been in contact with Jon Robinson and while the Titans’ GM said the absence was “unexcused”, it is worth noting that there is a report that Vic had a death in the family recently. If that is the case, then Beasley certainly deserves grace here.
NFL.com breaks down some of the best training camp battles around the NFL. They do not list any Titan competitions, but the battle for the kicker spot should be something.
Muddying the fantasy waters in Tampa Bay, LeSean McCoy signed a contract with the Bucs yesterday. I thought Keshawn Vaughn had a nice opportunity here, and he still might, but the signing of McCoy makes this a murky fantasy situation.
After being traded to Seattle, Jamal Adams says he’d like to finish his career with the Seahawks. After giving up two first round picks for him, that is probably music to their ears.
Have a great weekend, everyone! Enjoy the baseball, hockey, and basketball that are all back in business!
