Titans promote DT Naquan Jones to 53-man roster

The Tennessee Titans are promoting rookie DT Naquan Jones to their 53-man roster, per source.

Jones played his college football at Michigan State. The 6-foot-3, 313 pound defensive lineman impressed the Titans throughout the pre-draft process, and carried that positive momentum into training camp and the preseason.

Jones just missed out on an initial spot on the active roster on final cut down day, but was immediately signed to Tennessee’s practice squad following his release in late August.

Two spots on the active roster were opened up earlier on Tuesday following the releases of safety Bradley McDougald and defensive tackle Anthony Rush.

Jones will slot into the team’s defensive line rotation after a spot was freed up at the position group by Rush’s release. We expect Jones to be active against the Colts this Sunday, and to compete for snaps on game day.
