Titans release QB Matt Barkley, claim OL Corey Levin

The Tennessee Titans released QB Matt Barkley on Wednesday afternoon. Barkley joined the team halfway through camp this season, having left the Buffalo Bills where he backed up Josh Allen.

Barkley was up-and-down in his three preseason games with Tennessee, completing 24-of-39 passes for 295 yards, with three touchdowns and an interception. Established Titans’ backup Logan Woodside ultimately beat him out for the backup job. Tennessee is hopeful to sign Barkley to their practice squad.

The Titans front office also added OL Corey Levin Wednesday afternoon to bolster their center and guard depth. Levin played 16 games for the Titans in 2018 with one start. He most recently was with the New York Jets, who signed him back in April. Levin has also spent time on the practice squads of Tennessee, Denver, Chicago, and New England.
