Titans-Steelers Thursday Injury Report: A.J. Brown misses practice

Here’s the second injury report of the week for both the Titans and the Steelers, following up on yesterday’s report

THOUGHTS

It’s a good news/bad news type of day for the Titans. On the positive side, nearly everyone who missed or was limited in Wednesday’s practice improved their status to full participation on Thursday. The only exception is rookie Isaiah Wilson, who’s absence from practice is actually normal at this point.

On the not-so-positive side, A.J. Brown sat out of practice on Thursday nursing his knee injury. To see him show up as not even a limited participant after not being listed at all on Wednesday’s injury report in definitely eye-opening. It could be a maintenance day — Mike Vrabel will never tell us — or it could be a setback with his bone bruise. Something to monitor on Friday’s report.

The other good news is that Corey Davis is back and hasn’t shown up on the injury report at all this week. Same goes for Adoree Jackson.

Perhaps the best news is that Jonnu Smith was a full participant after injuring his ankle in the last game. Looks like he’ll be good to go for Tennessee.

THOUGHTS

As expected, the Steelers key veterans returned to practice after a simple maintenance day on Wednesday, including Pouncey, Roethlisberger, Smith-Schuster, and Tuitt this week. Roethlisberger was only limited, but his status for Sunday’s game is not in any jeopardy.

Meanwhile, Hilton and Watt — who each left last Sunday’s game against Cleveland with injuries — still have not practiced this week. Mike Tomlin said a few days ago that their practice participation would be the team’s “guide” in terms of availability for Sunday. Their practice participation on Friday will be an important indicator.

On the flip side, DeCastro and Johnson appear to be fully back from injuries suffered earlier this season.

And as I mentioned yesterday, Bush, like Lewan for the Titans, suffered a torn ACL in Week 6 and will miss the rest of 2020.
