THOUGHTS
Jadeveon Clowney, Dennis Kelly, and Jeffery Simmons all missed practice for the second consecutive day. A.J. Brown also sat out, as has become customary for him on Thursdays.
Adoree Jackson additionally missed practice as he continues to work back from his preseason knee injury.
It’s safe to assume these are all rest days (or maintenance for nagging injuries) as the team works through the grind of professional football. There’s some concern regarding Clowney’s status, as reported this morning by Mike Garafolo on NFL Network, but right now, there’s no reason to panic.
Remember that it’s a long season. The Titans are gearing up to play two games in five days (after playing three games over a 13-day span in Weeks 5-7). Clowney didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday last week and was able to play on Sunday with no problem.
There’s a chance they decide to rest him on Sunday so that he can play next Thursday in Tennessee’s important division clash with the Colts, but that’s nothing more than speculation. Friday’s reports will be telling.
Adam Humphries and Brett Kern will be out for at least this week, if not more.

THOUGHTS
Meanwhile, Chicago is not practicing at all after shutting down their facilities Thursday morning over COVID concerns.
I touched on the Bears’ offensive line injury issues in yesterday’s report (read that here if you missed it). Those issues have multiplied, as starting center Cody Whitehair — attempting to come back from an ankle injury — has reportedly contracted coronavirus.
Had the Bears hit the field today, it seems many veterans would’ve returned. But with no practice, we won’t have a good estimation of who will be available until the final injury report with player designations hits the wire Friday afternoon.
We’ll continue to monitor all these injuries and post the final updates Friday…
