The Tennessee Titans made a handful of roster transactions Monday afternoon.
The most notable move is the waiving of K Tucker McCann, who was injured in preseason action 10 days ago in Atlanta. McCann had looked solid through camp and was perfect in the preseason week 1 game before getting his kicking foot rolled up on by an Atlanta player.
Coach Mike Vrabel had said previously that the team didn’t think it would be a long road to recovery for McCann, but the front office has decided to move on just a week later.
Perhaps the decision was made because of the recent success of K Sam Ficken, the sole kicker left on the Titans’ active roster. Ficken has been perfect in both his preseason games thus far, going 3-for-3 on field goals and 6-for-6 on PATs.
Also waived were OL Paul Adams and OL Ross Reynolds, both injured as well. Adams was injured in Saturday night’s preseason game against the Buccaneers. Reynolds didn’t play in Tampa Bay.
DL Anthony Rush was moved to the team’s Reserve/COVID-19 list. This designation was made for any player who has tested positive or is deemed a close contact of an infected individual.
All NFL teams must cut their rosters down to 80 players by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
