Nashville SC’s Hany Mukhtar named MLS Player of the Week

Nashville SC MVP candidate Hany Mukhtar was named MLS Player of the Week after his Week 28 hat-trick against Colorado Rapids. It’s his fifth time being named Player of the Week since joining Nashville SC in 2020, the most of any player in that stretch.

It was the fifth multi-goal game for Mukhtar this season, who’s now scored 19 and assisted 11, just one behind Austin FC’s Sebastián Driussi in the MLS golden boot race.

Mukhtar wasn’t the only Nashville player honored in Week 28; Randall Leal was also named to the Team of the Week bench after notching an assist against the Rapids.

This is Mukhtar’s second Player of the Week nod in 2022, and his seventh time in the MLS Team of the Week.
