On Friday we received updated injury reports for the Titans and Broncos upcoming matchup after the initial reports came out yesterday.
The biggest mystery for the game right now involves receiver Courtland Sutton. According to Mike Klis, who covers the Broncos locally, Sutton is considered “day to day” with the AC joint sprain and currently is questionable for Monday night’s game. “Could have been worse,” is how Klis described the prognosis.
Anyway, onto the reports (note: players who appear in Bold saw their status change from an earlier report)…
Titans
DID NOT PRACTICE —
- OL Jamil Douglas (Hand)
- OLB Derick Roberson (Knee)
- OLB Vic Beasley (Knee)
- Dennis Kelly (Not injury related)
- Rodger Saffold (Not injury related)
LIMITED PARTICIPANT —
- RB Darrynton Evans (Hamstring)
- CB Adoree Jackson (Knee)
FULL PARTICIPANT —
- S Kenny Vaccaro (Not injury related)
- WR Corey Davis (Hamstring)
THOUGHTS
The first thing that jumps out is Beasley moving from “limited” on Thursday to a non-participant Friday. That obviously is trending in the wrong direction. We’ll see if Beasley can get back on the field Saturday. Players who participate less as the week goes on typically don’t end up playing. Hopefully the Titans aren’t missing Beasley against the Broncos.
In positive news, Davis and Vaccaro returned to full strength. I theorized on this morning’s Music City Audible podcast previewing the Broncos game that Davis was simply being held out for load management reasons, where they list hamstring only because they have to list something.
Adoree Jackson showing up limited is also concerning. We’ll have a much clearer picture of the health of the team on Saturday as we get final injury designations ahead of Monday night.
Broncos
DID NOT PRACTICE —
- ILB Mark Barron (Hamstring)
- OLB Von Miller (Ankle)
- WR Courtland Sutton (Shoulder)
LIMITED PARTICIPANT —
- WR K.J. Hamler (Hamstring)
FULL PARTICIPANT —
- S Trey Marshall (Wrist)
- OLB Bradley Chubb (Knee)
- G Graham Glasgow (Ankle)
- TE Albert Okwuegbunam (Ankle)
THOUGHTS
Sutton’s downgrade from a limited participant yesterday to “out” today was expected after his injury. Obviously Von Miller won’t be practicing for a while.
Chubb’s elevation to full participant bodes well for his chances of playing an increased role compared to what we may have expected before Miller’s injury with Chubb coming off ACL surgery. It seems the remaining Broncos who were hampered yesterday are pretty much healthy. Only K.J. Hamler is still working through his hamstring injury with his status for Monday night up in the air.
Check back again tomorrow for the final report and injury designations.
