What are the Titans’ plans at offensive line and inside linebacker?

The 2024 unrestricted free agency period has been equal parts exciting, unforeseen, and in some spots, concerning for the Tennessee Titans thus far. General manager Ran Carthon made a massive splash at wide receiver by signing Calvin Ridley to a four-year contract worth $92 million. Carthon swooped in right under the nose of AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars, who were working vigorously to retain Ridley. Carthon even utilized a classic Lil' Wayne reference to describe his in-the-dark dealings.

Ridley will pair with DeAndre Hopkins to form the best one-two punch at receiver the team has had since A.J. Brown and Corey Davis in 2020. Ridley's addition signals belief in franchise quarterback Will Levis. Elsewhere in free agency, the Titans are rolling the dice on some bounce-back candidates like running back Tony Pollard, cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, and linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr.

The Titans entered free agency with massive needs across their entire roster. Realistically, Carthon hasn't addressed all of them. One need in particular has surprisingly and largely gone unaddressed.


Most Titans fans expected several starters to be added to the offensive line by now. Perhaps that qualified as unrealistic. Center Lloyd Cushenberry was signed to a historic deal (per his position) to replace Aaron Brewer at center. It's a clear upgrade. Cushenberry is outstanding in pass protection, a skill that seems to mesh . . .
